The first strategy to make money online is building a list.

This strategy is the most important step to continue to make money long term. If you do not already have some type of autoreponder system you need to get one. Don’t be cheap here either because your entire business will hinge on this one piece of software.

You can build your list many different ways. You can buy leads from reputable list building companies and get them into your autoresponder. Most good list building companies will have an option to send an email to your autoresponder so you don’t have to manually input the lead’s information.

Another effective way of building your list is from the traffic that visits your website. This step, which is probably the most effective, does require you to have a website in order to implement an opt-in list form. Of course if your Affiliate program does offer a list management service then you can send traffic to the affiliate URL, but I don’t recommend it as you will usually not be able to email the entire list with special offers.

To make the most of your opt-in form and get the most signups, you should place it in your sales page text. It should be strategically located in the sales text after you present a problem. The title of your autoresponder email series should address the problem by offering a solution. In the example below we will assume that I am selling a hosting package and I want opt-in subscribers to my email course for back-end sales.

Example: You can use the pre-built websites or build your own. Many people think that building a website is hard, but I can show you how easy it really is. Take my 10 day email course “Build a Website with Ease” [signup form here].

The second strategy to make money online is driving traffic to your website.

When I say traffic, I don’t just mean any old traffic, I mean targeted traffic, people who are motivated and ready to buy can and will make you money. You can use programs and techniques such as Google Adwords, bloging, article writing and linking to drive targeted traffic to your website.

Google Adwords is a resource offered by Google in which you can pay for your site to be show when certain keywords are queried in their search engine. The secret to using Adwords is not to bid high on popular keywords. Instead, what you do is find similar keywords that still describe your website, but are used much less frequent. These keywords will cost much less to bid on and will allow you to spread your money out over many different keywords, getting the most bang for your buck. You can use this handy little tool to find similar keywords: inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/

Bloging is another great way to drive targeted traffic to your website. To get the most out of this technique the blog should be hosted on the same website as the sales page witch links to your affiliate program. Once its setup all you have to do is fill your blog with good quality content.

I recommend writing your own content which specifically relates to your affiliate program and or products. Once you have some content you will need to submit your RSS feed to the as many blog search engines as you can. This will put your blog out there for other webmasters to use as content feeds on their websites.

This win-win situation allows webmasters to have quality content on their website, which increases the value of that website while driving targeted traffic directly to you. This is done by the URL link that you conveniently placed under your name after the blog was written.

That means that your link is on a blog feed that is on thousands of websites. Not only do people click those links but Google sees these links pointing back to you and thinks that you’re popular and you are rewarded with a higher page rank.

Article writing is basically the same as bloging except the information in an article will need to have more useful content and be peppered with keywords that the webmasters are looking for. After completing your article you will submit (syndicate) it to content sites as opposed to blog search engines.

Content sites are places where webmasters go to find specific content to offer their readers. If you are a good writer you may at some point build up a name for yourself and finagle a deal with a webmaster to write exclusives for his site. His readers get great exclusive content and you get highly motivated targeted traffic.

Linking is perhaps the most widely used form of increasing traffic and page rank. However, if done incorrectly you could end up hurting your Google page rank and ultimately loosing potential buyers. You will need your own website for this technique as you will need a ‘links’ page to place your reciprocal links on.

Many people go and submit their URL links to link farms in an attempt to trick Google into giving them a better page rank. This does NOT work; in fact Google has been known to penalize websites for engaging in these activities.

The secret to linking is to find websites in your niche market which have a Google page rank of 4 or above and enticing the webmaster to list your link on their website. You may think that you would be helping your competition, well you would be. But your competition would be helping you as well. It’s better to send leaving traffic to a partner than just having them close their browser window, and remember that works both ways.

The strategies listed in this article do work and they will increase you sales and residuals it done correctly. Reciprocal linking, Bloging and Article writing are great ways to bring massive amounts of high quality targeted traffic to your website. Those strategies combined with an effective sales page with an integrated opt-in email list can make your business soar to new heights. You can and will make money with this system, Guaranteed!

One of the biggest mistakes new home-based business owners make is trying to do everything from square one.

You can rest assured that whatever you are attempting to do or build, it has already been done.

Sure, it probably won’t be a mirror image of what you’re doing, but it will have many of the same basic ingredients.

The fastest and easiest way to get your business going and growing is by finding others who have already done what you want to do and learning and benefiting from their efforts.

A local business person recently told me he was in the process of building an autoresponder. Of course, this wouldn’t be a strange thing to be doing if it was a service he plans to sell, but it has nothing to do with his business!

Instead of investing a few hours to explore those autoresponders already in existence, he is investing well more than a hundred hours trying to build one on his own so he can communicate with his customers.

By conducting only a couple of hours research, he would have discovered a variety of outstanding, affordable autoresponder services that are highly sophisticated and subject to continual upgrading and improvement to keep up with ever-changing technology and consumer needs.

Imagine the kind of business he could have generated for himself if he focused those one hundred plus hours acquiring new customers for his business and expanding and improving on his products and services!

Unfortunately, like him, many new home business owners are still of the employee mindset — that they have to work relentlessly and do everything alone.

They haven’t yet developed the entrepreneurial mindset that understands you have to work smarter, not harder.

Another time-consuming task many new business owners take on is spending hours, even days, trying to design the perfect logo. I’m embarrassed to say I spent DAYS searching the Internet for sample logos, looking for ideas, then sitting and drawing possible logo after logo.

Most people have more creative flair in their big toe than I have in my entire body, yet I thought that if I put enough time into it, even though it meant not focusing on increasing business, the perfect logo would reveal itself.

I eventually abandoned the obsession and as soon as I handed the project over to my web designer, I had a new, effective and eye-catching logo within 24 hours.

It was a costly mistake. I had spent so many years working in a support capacity that I didn’t know how to make the shift to a leader capacity and delegate the task.

(Even more important, I later realized, having a logo is waaaay down on the priority scale and doesn’t even have to be considered during the start-up period.)

As you are starting your business, consider the following tasks and ask yourself if someone else could be doing them while you focus on building:

designing brochures and marketing materials

creating your web site

setting up your voice mail and e-mail

purchasing supplies and equipment

stuffing envelopes and taking them to the post office, or delivering flyers

market research

hooking up your new computer, modem, fax and installing software

trouble shooting computer problems

writing articles, reports or white papers

These are not revenue generating activities and if you find them challenging or time-consuming, delegate these tasks to someone else like a family member, co-op student or part-time assistant.

For the more specialized items, seek the input of a mastermind member or business colleague on how they handle those responsibilities. Also, hire or barter with experts in marketing, web design and technology.

Another wheel you don’t need to re-invent is that of processes, particularly in the area of marketing.

Marketing may not be your forte, yet it is the most important element of your business, and this is where many new home business owners bury themselves.

The good news is you don’t have to develop your marketing process by trial and error. Commit several days to studying other businesses both in and outside of your industry. How do they promote themselves? How do they collect leads? How do they convert leads?

In other words, how do they catch the attention of potential customers, get them to express an interest to learn more, and how do they get them to ultimately pull out their wallets and buy?

The quickest and easiest way to create winning processes is to study already successful businesses, then model what they do. Sign up for their newsletters and request additional information. Let them begin a courtship with you and pay attention to what they’re doing. Buy a product or two and see what tools they use to keep inviting you back for more.

This doesn’t mean copy them word for word or action by action, but assimilate what works, mould it to your specific business and add the essential ingredient of uniqueness that allows you to stand out from the crowd.

These are just three simple strategies you can start with today to get on the fast-track to home business success.

Again, here they are in a nutshell:

Uncover what has already been created or invented, then implement or install. Don’t reinvent the wheel.

Think like a business owner, not an employee. Delegate, hire or trade.

Model the processes of others who have already achieved the level of success you’re seeking. They’ve already made the mistakes for you and know what works.

Incorporate these strategies and you will shave hours and dollars from your start-up curve and begin reaping the rewards faster than you ever thought possible.

Article Marketing is by far the most reliable long term internet marketing strategy for one primary reason. It provides web content which is the reason millions of users worldwide surf the internet daily. They seek for information.

Articles are the core of information on the net, whether they are objective or subjective about any issue. Search engines were built to provide content and actually the struggle was to provide the most relevant web content according to the search terms the user provides.

Article Marketing is a relative new internet marketing industry with great potential. However many pitfalls and misunderstandings have been released lately. That was expected because it’s a market principal, whenever there is growth and opportunity, “opportunists” and “scammers” step in.

The first subject is the article Submission Software and article automation procedures of any kind. The promises sound great. Massive submissions to article directories with push button software solutions. As tempting as it may seem, it is too good to be true. That happens because the algorithms the huge search engines corporations developed are so advanced that they detect any instant massive growth of links of any website. They are programmed to consider this “growth” as unnatural and then take precautions. These precautions could be a downgrade on search engine results for the spamming website or ban it completely form the search engines.

In simple words do not try to fool search engines giants like Google for example. Their spam filters are extremely advanced. Even if you succeed the spamming temporarily you will be discovered sooner or later and if you have a serious online business you jeopardize it.

The same applies to instant and massive web content growth of the website. For example if you had a website with five sub WebPages and after 3 days you have 2000 web pages. Google spam filters will detect it again as an unnatural web content growth of your website and proceed to the according measures. You must realize that search engines will do anything to protect the quality of their search results because this will bring targeted traffic and consequently the advertisers. You must grow your website and internet exposure step by step. This way you will gain long turn results and you will not be afraid of Google’s frequently algorithm’s alterations because you follow the rules.

The next subject is the PLR industry (Private Label Articles). Since most of the people are not writers or they despise writing, there comes the PLR solution which is monthly service (most of the cases) providing a number of articles each month to the subscriber. These articles are written by ghost writers and provided to hundreds of paying subscribers. It seems ideal but it’s not.

The spam filters are here too and focus on duplicated content. The same article by dozens of websites will not give you any advantage. What you can do is to modify them or by hand (which is time consuming) or with using some of the anti-duplicate content software titles. But there relies a problem. Most of these software titles do modify the articles for search engines but it’s not readable by the users. So you must be careful and check constantly what the PLR software provides and how alters the article.

The last subject relates with the article directories which have been increased massively the last two years. Should you consider submitting your article to 500 article directories without examining the quality of each one, or you should improve the quality of your article and submit it to qualitative ones?

The second case is more effective in the long run because you maximize your possibilities to have your article published to a huge online publication with thousands of unique visitors daily. In that way you gain massive exposure and most important credibility to your industry.

Finally the conclusion of the above is that shortcuts will not help you. The future on web content industry belongs to people who are not afraid to write (they don’t have to be novelists) and produce Unique content. The entrepreneurs who grasp the value of unique content and apply it to their marketing efforts will definitely gain the advantage.

The tool was made by Brad Callen.

The Keyword Elite software tool if starting with it, should gather you more than niche analysis. It can even tell you what your competitors are actually bidding on the search engines on a persistent basis.

There are various factors to consider in selecting such a affiliate program or product to promote.

Of course you will want to market products that fit in with your target audience. You will also want to affiliate yourself with a reputable company that pays their affiliates on time. There is such an abundance of affiliate programs online, that you can afford to be picky when searching for the perfect one. Take some time and scan affiliate forums to find feedback about various programs from the people that are promoting them.

Write free reports or ebooks
This type of marketing is called viral marketing and is highly effective. You have to options here. You can load up your autoresponder with a series of short reports that offer the prospective customer, the benefits of using your service or product.

The other option is to use an ebook composing software and write an e-book, about your experiences with the product or service that you are using. Or your ebook could be on a topic related to affiliate marketing, internet marketing, etc., etc.

It has been proven that most prospective customers will need to see your ad over several times, before they will purchase from you. An ongoing ezine solves this longterm marketing challenge.

Simply set up another autoresponder specifically devoted to your new ezine. Come up with a catchy name for your ezine like ” Affiliate Tips Weekly” or Home Business Reviews”. You can find a suitable name for your audience with a little thought. Set up a pop up or subscriber form on your website that links to your autoresponder address. Offer your free ebook or something free, when a subcscriber signs up. Offering a freebie will always boost your subscriber rates.

How to Keep Your Affiliate Marketing Business Organized ©
Copyright Rosalind Gardner, All Rights Reserved.

I’m fairly anal about keeping my business, and almost all
aspects of my life, well-organized.

For example, open my closet and you’ll see my clothes sorted by
garment type and color (according to the spectrum from white to
black).

Sick, eh?

How about a food cupboard sorted into soups, veggies, snacks,
sauce mixes, pasta and rice, etc? Oh ya, and the labels ARE
turned out.

Are you ready to have me committed yet?

Wait just a moment, please. There’s method in my madness…
really and truly.

Surely you know people who can’t organize their way out of a
paper bag. They come home and leave their keys in a different
place each time. Then whenever they want to go out, they need to
spend 5 minutes searching for their keys… and/or shoes, or
jacket, or paperwork…

What a huge a waste of life!

I use the term ‘life’ because life is comprised of, and measured
by, time.

Nothing is more precious than time and making each of your
moments count. Spending time on trivial matters like looking for
keys when you could be having fun with friends and family,
helping others through your business, saving the planet, or even
taking a nap – is a waste of time.

Likewise, looking for a merchant’s affiiliate interface login
and password when you want to install one of their links on your
site, is a waste of time.

Scrap that… it’s a waste of time to have to look for the link
itself.

All the details relating to your affiliate marketing business
need to be at right at your fingertips.

I stay organized by keeping everything in one big Excel file
accessed from my desktop.

The file has a number of worksheets, each with its own set of
information.

All the programs I’m affiliated with are listed on one
worksheet, with headings for program name, username/login,
password, network association (if any), primary links, my own
redirect links, broker (2nd tier) links, link for the affiliate
interface, manager’s name and contact info, commission rate and
other important info.

Another sheet logs all monies owed and received, and tallies
income by program and category, as well as by month and year.

On another worksheet I’ve listed software information including
purchase date, registration numbers and login details.

Still another keeps track of information for subscriptions such
as forums and membership sites.

Everytime I come up with an article idea, it gets entered on the
‘Article Ideas’ worksheet. There’s yet another sheet with a list
of article submission sites.

I log interview, presentation, and teleconference dates and
details in that file.

Testimonials and success stories have their own separate sheets.

The Net Profits Today newsletter is laid out in advance on
another sheet, with suggestions for topics and articles.

Last but not least, my project (to-do) list is on another
worksheet, filed by domain name and sorted by date due.

The ‘Big File’ is always open.

When I join a program, the details get entered right away. While
reading my email, I cut and paste testimonials right into the
file, and jot ideas for future NPT topics … as they pop up.

My site files are organized by domain name – not generic terms
like ‘dating site’, or ‘book site’, as I’ve seen some webmasters
do.

As soon as I join a program I enter all the details on the
relevant sheet, and create a redirect link, which I know I’ll
use if I promote the product via email.

I create email filters for every webmaster I do business with,
and messages go straight into their personal folder. One quick
filter – no more filing.

Setting up – and keeping up with – such a system may seem like a
lot of work.

It’s not.

Do it often enough and it becomes second nature.

Staying organized sure beats the heck out of wasting five
minutes trying to find the email with that merchant’s affiliate
program login information just so you find your affiliate links.
